Washington Butler is a Puyallup native who was interested in the arts at a very young age. She sang in choirs entered contests for singing and also performed in schools and in community theatre. She studied at the University of Southern California and then moved to Los Angeles where she played Belle the beautiful and beast princess in Disneyland for a period of about one year and a half. Her decision to leave college was to locate an agent to represent her talents to audition for films and television. While initially disliking the movie's brutality and sexual violence, she came to accept the feminist nature of the plot and strong characters. Butler played Jennifer Hills who, having been viciously assaulted in a forest cabin and sexually assaulted by a gang, vows to take revenge on those responsible. Steven R. Monroe directed the film which was released on October 8, the year 2010. Butler started filming The Stranger Within (a psychological thriller) in Spain, Mallorca together with Estella Ward as well as William Baldwin back in November 2011. The film was scheduled to film at Copenhagen Denmark and New York City.She became part of the independent feature Treachery featuring Michael Biehn which began filming in Los Angeles in June 2012.
